End of Season 01/16/21
I’m coming to the final weeks of guiding in the Louisiana Marsh for the season and always sad to leave this place. If I had to pick one place to fish forever it would be right here! No fly fishing pressure, lots of untouched water and happy fishing that are giants! Although I fell in love with guiding through Tarpon fly fishing being a Louisiana fly fishing guide for bull redfish is one of the most rewarding guiding experiences I have ever seen, sure people are in awe of the beauty of rolling tarpon and the shear size of them but on a consistent basis the redfish of the marsh will leave people wondering why they don’t fish here more often. Although these giant redfish top the scales at over 30lbs! It’s the way these fish act and the aggressive nature of them when the sun comes out. Chasing down flies and lures just off your feet at the bow is simply amazing. No other fish is so Un- pressured they do that. They are the apex predator and on calm and sunny days they show us just that. I am excited to get back to my Naples fly fishing guide routine and in the backwaters of the Everglades national park I will keep these giant redfish close in my mind. I have some great February dates for a Everglades Fly Fishing guide as well as May and June in Big Pine key for some gin clear water worm fishing! Let me know if you ever want to chat about the best months in the Louisiana Marsh for the 2022 season and to get the best moon tides available. This next season will go quick as too many of my clients have seen the magic of this place!!Take care and have fun.
