Juvenile Tarpon 07/1/21
I’m am finishing up my season in Big Pine with some good weather to close out June- with so much tuff wind this season even a few days of calm makes us feel blessed! I got to take out a couple new clients this past couple weeks and as they were good anglers they were just getting into tarpon fly fishing and had never landed a tarpon on the fly. It is a good ideas to start with juvenile tarpon and one of the greatest places I guide them is the Keys late season. Juvenile tarpon are more obtainable for the beginning angler- they stay in areas longer and bite better than the giant counterparts. It is nice for anglers new to the sport of tarpon fly fishing to be successful not frustrated. That’s just what Josh and Mike did on the flats for the last couple days-Great numbers of 20-30lb tarpon! When you can hook double digit numbers of these fish day after day it can be a lot more exciting than fishing the giants- I enjoy it more year after year. I am closing up my season and almost full for next season here already. I am head back up to Naples so if you are looking for a Naples Fly Fishing guide give me a call and I can set you up for a day Fly fishing in the Everglades. I take the month of August off for vacation then back to the Louisiana Marsh Sept-Feb so if you are coming through there spots are limited and I have some good dates still! Let me know if you are looking for an Louisiana Fly Fishing Guide and I will get you my remaining available dates!Have fun.
