Tarpon Time 02/16/21

Tarpon Time!

I love being back in the Everglades when we get some winds there is always a place to hide with some big fish! The past few days have been great water temperatures with some good tarpon fishing in the mornings when calm. When the winds have picked up we have been ducking back in some shallow ponds deep in the backcountry to sight ast some good snook- even some of the elusive giants! The early season tarpon fishing is one of my favorite things coming back from the Louisiana marsh. Not seeing these silver giants makes it all the more fun to really work hard to find some laid up in the backcountry. Tarpon need that warmth of the sunshine coming out of some low water temps. I have had them laid up, rolling and even swimming in strings the past couple weeks. I have a busy March and April but if you are looking for a Naples Fly Fishing guide I can check availability or hook you up with one of my guide buddies. I still have only a few days available in June in Big Pine Key to chase some clear water tarpon! The good days are upon us! These fish continue to make long lasting memories burned in the minds of clients and guides alike. It is an ever growing popular sport for good reason and should be the season of celebration. Let me know if you are on the look to chase the silver king with a Everglades Fly Fishing Guide!
