Tarpon Time! 02/24/19
Its almost Tarpon time! Im a snook guy but cant deny the celebration that these fish bring when they swim through our path! The water temperatures are rising to those magical temperatures. If you have not ever booked a Everglades fly fishing guide for tarpon I still have some great dates available in May and June. I follow the fish this time of year and when they are deep in the Everglades we will fish there or if they are in Marco Island area I will trailer there. Southwest Florida has one of the greatest tarpon migrations on earth and I feel lucky every time I get in front of these fish with clients. They migrate up the coast when the waters are warm and lay up motionless in shallow bays along the coast of the everglades on the right tides. Southwest Florida is one of the best places to target these fish with fly gear or plug gear alike. In the tea-colored water of the everglades they readily eat sub-surface and top-water plugs and can be sight-casted with flies. If you are looking for a Naples fly fishing guide give me a call and I would love to chat about my fishery!
